Grounded coaching before and after psychedelic experiences, helping you prepare responsibly, make sense of what surfaces, and turn insight into practical change that holds up when real life returns.
You are the expert on your life. You bring the knowledge of your history, values, goals, needs, challenges, strengths, and lived reality.
Your perspective is not an obsticle to the process, it is central to it!
My approach is based in psychology, neuroscience, behavior change, trauma-informed practices, two decades of lived psychedelic experience, and over 10 years of coaching and helping people overcome major life challenges and transitions.
My role is to listen closely, explain clearly, challenge respectfully. Together, we sort through the noise, idenitify what fits, and help you make informed decisions that align with your values and reality as you work to overcome your challegnes and reach your goals.

Dr. Stanislav Grof
A meaningful experience can create awareness, insight, perspective, or possibility. But lasting change usually happens afterward, through reflection, support, difficult decisions, repeated practice, and the actions you take when ordinary life returns.

From the outside, you may look capable, responsible, and even successful. Inside, your mind rarely shuts off. You may feel anxious, disconnected, emotionally overloaded, or stuck repeating patterns you understand but cannot seem to change.
You may already understand where your patterns came from. You may know what triggers you, what you avoid, and what you supposedly need to change. You may have read the books, listened to the podcasts, tried therapy, medication, meditation, journaling, self-help, or taken the plunge into psychedelics. Maybe therapy helped you name it. Maybe psychedelics helped you see it more clearly than ever.
Then real life showed back up.
Work got busy. Relationships activated old patterns. Motivation faded. The routine lasted eleven days. The journal stayed closed. What felt undeniable during the experience slowly became another thing you understood but were not consistently living.
But understanding yourself is not always the same as knowing what to do next.
You are not short on insight. You are struggling to make it stick.
You do not need another promise that one substance, protocol, professional, or breakthrough will fix everything.
You need a grounded process, a system, for sorting through the noise, understanding what matters, and turning meaningful insights into practical choices you can carry into everyday life.
Thrive helps you move from information, self-awareness, and meaningful experiences into clearer decisions, practical actions, and changes that fit your actual life.
Sort through conflicting information, competing advice, fears, expectations, and outside opinions so you can identify what matters most to you.
Consider your intentions, risks, boundaries, environment, support, and readiness without pressure to have another experience.
Explore the patterns, emotions, memories, and questions that remain after the experience—without demanding an immediate answer.
Turn awareness into small decisions and repeatable behaviors that can hold up under stress, distraction, and ordinary life.
You do not have to perfectly understand everything that happened. You need a responsible next step you can actually take.

Forged by the fire of life.
Life can be relentless, and your experiences have already shaped who you are. Now, we can transform that heat into personal growth.
You are not starting from zero, and you are not broken. Your experiences have already forged strengths, defenses, beliefs, values, and ways of surviving, even when some of those patterns no longer serve you.
Forge helps you recognize what life has taught you, understand what shaped the person you are today, and identify the foundation you are ready to build from.
Carry forward your strength.
Question the patterns.
Choose what comes next.

Integrate your insights.
Insight can come through psychedelics, meditation, reflection, journaling, relationships, or the moment a familiar pattern finally becomes clear.
Integration helps you sort through what surfaced, connect it to your real life, and identify what deserves reflection, action, support, or more time.
You do not have to understand everything at once or change your entire life overnight.
But you can turn that awareness into insight you can actually use.
Make the insight clear, grounded, and achievable next steps.

Rewire your subconsious mind.
Your brain builds wiring through repetition. Thoughts, reactions, habits, and protective responses become automatic because they have been practiced, sometimes for years.
Rewiring begins by catching old patterns sooner and practicing different responses with enough consistency that new pathways become more available. Insight opens the door, but repeated action teaches your brain another way forward.
Notice the old wiring.
Practice the new pattern.
Repeat.

Emerge as your authentic self.
Emerge is the embodiment of the work: integrating insight, recognizing patterns, choosing more intentionally, and returning to your direction when life knocks you off course.
This is not about reaching a flawless final version of yourself. It is the ongoing practice of living with greater self-trust, alignment, courage, and access to your fullest potential, what some might call your higher self.
Not a perfect life.
A more conscious, authentic way of living it.
Maybe you are still researching. Maybe you have had an experience that left you with more questions than answers. Maybe you already know what needs to change, but you want structure, accountability, or support actually putting it into practice.
You can begin with the level of support that fits your life right now, and add more only if it becomes useful.

No two people come to this work from the same place, and progress does not look exactly the same for everyone.
What I look for is movement: greater clarity, stronger self-awareness, practical follow-through, more confidence making decisions, and new ways of responding when familiar patterns show up.

When you’ve spent a long time trying to figure things out on your own, it can become difficult to imagine anything actually feeling different.
Good support doesn’t hand you a magic answer, it can give you room to sort through what’s happening, see yourself more clearly, and recognize possibilities that are hard to see when you’re stuck inside the problem.

Feeling stuck isn’t always a lack of effort. Sometimes you’ve been thinking, researching, and trying so many things that it becomes difficult to know where to focus next.
Our work helped Mike create structure, get clearer about what mattered, and begin taking practical steps toward the life he wanted to build.

There is no shortage of information about psychedelics, personal growth, and behavior change.
The harder part is figuring out what actually applies to you, and turning that information into something useful in your everyday life.
My role is to bring knowledge, thoughtful questions, and practical guidance while keeping you at the center of your own decisions.

Robin came to Thrive wanting more than another quick fix. Through 1:1 coaching, we focused on self-awareness, practical behavior-change tools, routines, and accountability throught the FIRE method.
When questions about prescription medication came up, I referred her to a board-certified pharmacist for a separate medication consultation. Medication decisions remained between Robin and the qualified healthcare professional.
What matters most about Robin’s story is not simply that her medication changed, it is that she developed new skills, practices, and confidence for navigating challenges that had shaped her life for decades.
Robin’s medication outcome was individual and professionally managed. Thrive does not direct medication changes or promise similar outcomes.
There was a time when my life looked nothing like it does today.
I was overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, using food, drugs, and alcohol to escape how I felt, and making choices that created even more problems. I ended up dealing with legal trouble, unstable work and housing, and a period of homelessness. At my heaviest, I was nearly 300 pounds.
I knew I needed to change. I just didn't know how.
Because knowing I needed to change and actually knowing how to change were two very different things.
Psychedelics became part of that story. Early experiences gave me relief, perspective, and glimpses of a different way of living. But the afterglow faded - and many of the same thoughts, habits, and problems came right back.
That was one of the most important lessons of my life:
It took years to learn how to turn what I was seeing into something I could actually live: understanding my patterns, taking responsibility for my choices, building healthier habits, practicing different responses, repairing parts of my life, and getting back up when I slipped into old ways of coping.
I eventually went back to college and earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Washington. During my first quarter there, I was still couch surfing and experiencing homelessness. Instead of hiding that part of my story, I helped start a nonprofit with friends to support other college students experiencing homelessness.
Over time, I built a career centered on helping people navigate change. I rebuilt my health, lost more than 100 pounds, developed healthier ways of dealing with stress, and created a life that once would have felt completely out of reach.
None of that means I figured out some secret formula for a perfect life.
It means I learned something much more useful:
Real change is usually less about one breakthrough and more about what you repeatedly do with what you’ve learned.
That principle sits at the center of Thrive.

A Grounded, Nonclinical Approach
Practical tools, behavior change, integration, honest accountability -- and knowing when another professional belongs on the team.
Please reach us at jameslaurae@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
No. Thrive provides nonclinical coaching and education focused on preparation, integration, behavior change, self-awareness, and accountability.
I don’t diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, provide psychotherapy, or replace licensed medical or mental-health care. When something falls outside the coaching relationship, I’ll encourage you to work with an appropriately qualified professional.
Not at all.
Some clients come to Thrive because they’re seriously considering a psychedelic experience and want help thinking through their intentions, questions, risks, and readiness. Others have already had an experience and want help making sense of what surfaced. And some simply want practical support turning greater self-awareness into meaningful change.
You don’t need to be at a particular point in the journey. Start where you are.
I can help you think through the decision more clearly.
That may include exploring your goals, expectations, concerns, support system, personal circumstances, unanswered questions, and factors you may want to discuss with a healthcare professional.
I won’t make the decision for you or tell you that you should use psychedelics. The goal is to help you make a more informed, intentional decision that fits your life and values.
Taking medication does not automatically mean you cannot work with Thrive.
We can discuss your goals, experiences, concerns, and the behavioral side of your growth, but I do not recommend that clients start, stop, taper, or change prescription medications.
When medication questions matter to the work, I encourage collaboration with an appropriately qualified healthcare professional. Good support means knowing when another kind of expertise belongs on the team.
Thrive does not sell, supply, or source psychedelic substances.
My role is focused on education, harm reduction, preparation, integration, and behavior change -- not telling you exactly what substance to take or acting as a source for illegal drugs.
We can talk about safety considerations, questions to research, red flags, preparation, and ways to approach psychedelic decisions more intentionally.
That’s completely normal.
If you’re still researching and want a grounded place to begin, start with the free Harm Reduction Guide.
If you’ve already done a lot of thinking but still aren’t sure what applies to you, the Thrive Groundwork Session is designed to help you sort through where you are, what you want, what may be getting in the way, and what your next useful step could be.
You don’t need the whole path figured out. You just need somewhere useful to begin.
You’ve read the books and tried therapy. Perhaps you've even explored how to microdose mushrooms or taken the plunge into a full journey. Yet, something feels stuck - on repeat. You may have been diagnosed with anxiety, depression, or PTSD, or maybe you're unsure of the label but sense that your nervous system is always on edge. You might be feeling exhausted, numb, burned out, or trapped in cycles that seem impossible to break. Or maybe you’ve experienced the medicine firsthand. Perhaps you’ve touched your truth in a ceremony or during quiet moments alone—and now you want to learn how to live from that place. But no one has shown you how to get there. If you’re considering microdosing for anxiety or looking for psychedelic therapy near you, you might find that psychedelic integration therapy could be the key to your journey.
✅ You’re actively microdosing - or ready to begin
✅ You’ve had a psychedelic journey you don’t know how to integrate
✅ You’re done with just surviving and want tools that actually change your patterns
✅ You’re seeking a coach who honors both science and soul
✅ You’re ready for a structured path - not just another insight
This isn’t for the bypassers, the dabblers, or the “trip harder” crowd.
This is for people who are ready to face themselves - and walk with power toward what’s next.
